The four Phish guys– Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman — sound great on 16th studio album, “Evolve.”
Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio performs at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., on Monday, April 17, 2023. For a band known primarily for its awesome live shows, Phish sure has released a number of fine studio outings over the decades.
And now that roll call must also include “Evolve,” the world’s greatest jam band’s 16th full-length studio platter . The four players — vocalist-guitarist Trey Anastasio, keyboardist Page McConnell, bassist Mike Gordon and drummer Jon Fishman — all sound splendid through a baker’s dozen of tracks, emitting a kind of musical synergy that has been forged through five decades of playing together.
