Phoenix reloaded its roster with young blood after signing up four rookies, led by high-flying guard Ricci Rivero as the franchise looks to make serious noise in the PBA Season 48 set to start on Nov. 5.

Rivero, a two-time UAAP men's basketball champion, inked a two-year pact with the Fuel Masters, who selected him in the second round or 17th overall in the recent PBA Rookie Draft.Phoenix coach Jamike Jarin described Rivero as the 'second coming' of retired PBA star Cyrus Baguio. The 25-year-old Rivero reunites with Jarin, who coached the former La Salle and University of the Philippines star in the Batang Gilas Under-16 in 2013.

Other rookies who signed separate deals for Phoenix include Filipino-New Zealander Ken Tuffin , Raffy Verano , and Matthew Daves .'From fellow players to coaches to management, everyone is very excited with the new additions. Ken, Raffy, Ricci and Chew fill up spots that we sorely need and we feel that with coach Jamike's system they can contribute early and help us big,' said Phoenix team manager Paolo Bugia.
