Trillick claimed a 1-13 to 0-13 win as the final went down to the wire at Healy Park
Trillick are Tyrone champions for the ninth time but needed extra time to see off outgoing champions Errigal Ciaran in Healy Park.
But Errigal outscored Trillick by eight points to two for the remainder of the second half and after two late Peter Harte points, sub Odhran Robinson took the game to extra time.In fact the only time Errigal were in front over the 80 plus minutes was for a brief 20 seconds early in extra time, before two excellent scores from Richie Donnelly slammed the door on their hopes of a fightback.
Errigal finished with 13 players after Padraig McGirr and Peter O’Hanlon were sent off in injury time right at the end. “We went into that game, for reasons unknown to be honest, as big underdogs and the boys almost took it as an insult,” he claimed.“So the boys felt that Trillick weren’t been given any respect and that’s the way we looked at it.Errigal Ciaran:
