A cordon has been in place in Manchester city centre
Officers taped off part of Manchester city centre following a triple stabbing, with three men arrested. Police cordoned off an area next to Piccadilly Gardens last night .
Greater Manchester Police was called out to reports of a fight in Piccadilly Gardens at around 9.54pm. Two men in their 20s and a man in his 50s suffered stab wounds. All three have been arrested on suspicion of affray. Armed officers, a police helicopter and multiple GMP vehicles were seen in attendance overnight.
Paramedics also attended the scene, with medical debris pictured on the ground. A section of Piccadilly was taped off outside Superdrug. Detective Superintendent Ian McNabb, of GMP's City of Manchester Central District, said: “The use of knives or violence in our communities is completely unacceptable. Incidents like this are incredibly serious and can have devastating consequences.
Our officers are working tirelessly in the city centre and across Greater Manchester to tackle this kind of offending and keep people safe.
“We will be relentless in our efforts to remove knives from our streets and to bring those who carry or use them to justice to prevent incidents like this happening Anyone with information is asked should contact police on 101 or via LiveChat quoting log 3667 of 19/05/2026. GMP says a man in his 20s was found at the scene with stab wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment. A second man, in his 50s, was found nearby with a stab wound to his arm and was also taken to hospital.
