Piccadilly Gardens is gearing up to become the main hub of Manchester Christmas Markets yet again - with the wooden huts now under construction. It's just three weeks to go until the big return of the festive extravaganza across the city centre.
Barriers have been erected while works are carried out across the space, with signs saying: "Christmas Market under construction". The Christmas Markets will offficially open across the city from Friday, November 10 and will then run through to Thursday, December 21. He said this week: "Things have moved on since the start of the year when we thought our only option would be to find another market site to replace Piccadilly Gardens.
"This includes installing vastly improved ground protection across the whole market site that will stay in place for the duration of the Christmas markets and into the new year, the laying of vehicle tracks across the site, and extending the timeframe for the build of the markets and load-ins.
