Tom Pidcock won gold in the Men's Cross-Country Mountain Biking race at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, successfully defending his Tokyo Olympics title with a remarkable effort
Tom Pidcock has once again struck gold in the Men's Cross-Country Mountain Biking race, defending his Tokyo Olympics title and adding another gold to Team GB's tally in what was a truly memorable race. Pidcock, at just 24 years old, was the clear favourite as he lined up for Monday afternoon's race.
However, the drama began to unfold when Pidcock suffered a puncture to his front wheel at the end of the third lap, leading to a tense moment as he had to switch wheels. A lengthy stop ensued, with Pidcock's support team frantically working to get him back on track, which resulted in him trailing French rider Koretzky by 36 seconds at the midpoint of the race, reports the Mirror.
