Piers Morgan has shared his response following Phillip Schofield’s confession to an affair with a This Morning showrunner.
While fellow broadcaster Piers, 58, didn’t directly share his feelings on the whole debacle, he did sum up his reaction with one word.The former Good Morning Britain host went on to Retweet a tweet that read: ‘A lot more questions about who knew what when at ITV to be answered after this…’after he initially stepped back from This Morning amid rumours of a fallout with co-presenter Holly Willoughby, 42.
‘For ITV to not even give him the chance to say a proper goodbye to his large, loyal audience after 21 years struck me as needlessly churlish, and I know he’s utterly heartbroken about it because he told me himself.’ ‘The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry for having lied to them, and to many others about a relationship that I had with someone working on This Morning. I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.‘Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
