A military aircraft has crashed near the international airport in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Authorities say the pilot was able to escape and was taken to a hospital with serious injures. Albuquerque International Sunport spokesperson Diana Lopez says the aircraft came down Tuesday on the south side of the airport.
ALBUQUERQUE , N.M. — A military aircraft crashed Tuesday near the international airport in New Mexico ’s largest city, sending up a large plume of smoke and injuring the pilot.
Kirtland Air Force Base was leading the investigation into the crash. The base did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
