The plane crashed about 3km away from Archerfield airport, and officials are still unsure what caused the emergency landing. Queensland police described the plane as being “medium-sized” and added that it was forced into an emergency on to a rail line which was closed for upgrades. “The tracks there were closed today for upgrades, with the aircraft landing very close to the railway tracks,” a police spokesperson said.
“Police investigations are ongoing, and anyone in the vicinity with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident is urged to contact Queensland police.”
