A Filipino woman in Arizona in the United States was sentenced to two years in prison for the attempted murder of her American husband.
NEW YORK — Melody Johnson, 40, appeared recently before the Superior Court in Arizona where she admitted to attempting to poison her husband, Roby Johnson, a US Air Force member, by spiking his coffee with bleach. The attempt, which occurred in the couple's home in Tucson, Arizona, was captured on a security camera installed by the victim himself, court records show.
The footage presented by investigators against Melody showed her pouring bleach into her husband's coffeemaker on July 16, 2023, from a container she retrieved from the laundry area.Upon presenting the evidence to authorities, Melody was promptly arrested and charged with attempted murder. She later struck a plea deal with the court in exchange for a reduced sentence.The couple, who have a child, is undergoing divorce proceedings, a Newsweek report said.
