A man who was reportedly driving a stolen motorcycle died after crashing it into a minivan in the Hilltop neighborhood Monday morning, police said.
HALEIWA, Hawaii — A professional lifeguard and surfer, who also appeared in one of the"Pirates of the Caribbean" films, died after he was attacked by a shark while surfing off the island of Oahu in Hawaii on Sunday afternoon, authorities said., 49, died in the attack near Goat Island, Shayne Enright of the Honolulu Emergency Services Department said in a statement.
Lifeguards brought Perry to shore by jet ski and paramedics assisted with the death pronouncement, Enright said. Tamayo Perry, a surfer, lifeguard and actor who held roles in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Blue Crush,” died on Sunday after being attacked by a shark in Hawaii. He was 49.Honolulu Ocean Safety Acting Chief Kurt Lager said Perry was “a lifeguard loved by all.”
