A young man has died after his pizza truck rolled following a collision with two cows crossing a highway in a rural region.

The incident occurred about 10pm Thursday along the North West Coastal Highway in the remote area of Fortescue in WA's Pilbara region.

The 23-year-old driver was in an Isuzu truck, towing a trailer with a concrete pizza oven and heading north on the highway, according to WA Police.He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.Another fatal crash occurred in Western Australia on Sunday in South Hedland, a suburb also in the Pilbara region.

WA Police said about 6:15am “a Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north on Collier Drive, near Wambiri Street, when it left the roadway and rolled.” There were three occupants of the vehicle – the 35-year-old male driver and a 40-year-old male passenger who both received minor injuries, along with a 31-year-old male passenger who died from his injuries after being taken to Hedland Health Campus.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene of both crashes and are appealing for any witnesses to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at
