Liverpool has become a city loved by directors in recent years, featuring in dramas such as BBC’s The Responder and Amazon’s Dead Hot. It has also doubled as other locations, such as interwar Birmingham in Peaky Blinders and Gotham City in The Batman.
Filming in Merseyside is organised by the Liverpool Film Office. It will offer a range of free-to-all courses and career development training for those who want to work behind the scenes on TV shows and films.
This will include career surgeries, basic training, workshops, industry bootcamps, access to additional employability assets masterclasses. It is specifically targeted at people just starting out in the industry, with entrants not allowed to have three or more broadcast credits to their name. You must also be 18 or over, have the right to work in the UK, live in the Liverpool City Region and not be currently studying in further or higher education. To gain access to these opportunities, you need to register on the Liverpool Film Office Crew Database as a new entrant in the department that most interests you.
