The South Korea n news agency Yonhap confirmed the devastating news this morning, stating that fire authorities fear all passengers on the Boeing 737 , except for two, have perished, making it one of the worst air disasters in history.
The aircraft collided with a wall at Muan International Airport in South Korea, located approximately 288 miles from Seoul. It was also carrying six flight attendants and appears to have veered off the runway. Two survivors were pulled from the wreckage while fire crews battled to save more lives. The plane exploded following the crash, sustaining severe damage and catching fire. The South Korean National Fire Agency suggested that the aircraft may have experienced issues with its landing gear due to a bird strike, with footage showing it skidding along the runway without wheels touching the ground. The aircraft had flown from Bangkok, Thailand with 173 South Korean nationals and two Thai citizens on board, reports the Mirror. An eyewitness to the shocking incident claimed that 'a flock of migratory ducks collided with the plane and less than five minutes later, a loud explosion was heard.' According to Naver News, the witness was fishing near Muan Airport at 9am local time and recounted to KBC: 'The plane was flying low to land when it collided with the flock of ducks. The ducks then started to scatter like crazy and it looked like the plane was on fire.' They added: 'Then, a moment later, there was a loud bang and a huge amount of smoke rose into the sky
