Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus will be in alignment near the moon and visible using binoculars from Tuesday evening

“If anybody does want to get out there with a pair of binoculars or a telescope tonight and they’re going to go looking for Jupiter and Mercury, just be particularly careful to not point their telescope anywhere close to the sun, as that can cause damage to your eyesight,” he said.“Also lining up pretty close along this line is a star cluster called the Pleiades,” he said.

“It’s called the Seven Sisters. It’s an open cluster of very bright, very blue, very hot young stars; and with a good pair of binoculars or especially a telescope it’s really quite spectacular to look at.”professor from the University of Sydney, said the planetary alignment was a common phenomenon, taking place once every few years.
