Weeks after her move, the 47-year-old has a hard time finding what she needs.The Dallas Morning News is telling the stories of people killed in homicides in 2024 to show the toll of violent crime in Dallas. Reporting throughout the year will probe what officials are doing to address a crime that claimed at least 246 lives last year.
Holly Capps holds her son’s 19-year-old cat, Kizzy, at her home in McKinney July 26. Kamari was born not long after Holly adopted Kizzy and the gray cat became his as soon as he could crawl.Kamari had driven into the parking lot and, according to surveillance footage, seemed to gesture to someone to approach. Two individuals entered the car and moments later Kamari and Camren were fatally shot. The recording shows Camren exiting and falling to the ground as two people run from the scene.
Set to graduate in May from Plano Senior High School, Kamari planned to learn mechanical fabrication at a trade school or in the military. In the meantime, he told his mom, getting his barber certification could help with expenses.
