The car-free development would feature 154 flats
Plans for a new 25-storey tower in Cheetham Hill have been submitted to Manchester council. The residential block would feature 154 one and two-bedroom apartments - 20 per cent of which would be affordable - with some space for businesses on the bottom floor.
Unveiling the plans last month, developer Benjamin Property said the building will act 'as a catalyst' to 'rejuvenate' the area on the edge of Manchester city centre. The 321-acre area which borders the Park Place site has been described as the 'missing piece of the jigsaw' in the regeneration of central Manchester. But Strangeways prison, which is located behind Park Place, currently stands in the way as a 'barrier to growth'.
