Plans to preserve and enhance a historic pub in Market Drayton have been approved by councillors.

Plans submitted requested for permission to make"internal changes" that include the creation of a new staircase to the first floor of the pub that will give access to the ladies toilets and a meeting room. There are also plans to change the location location of the commercial kitchen, build an extension to link, and remove an outbuilding, and for the existing roof to be extended and carried across a new extension alongside an extension to the existing canopy.

Chair of the planning committee at Market Drayton Town Council, Councillor Byron Chapman added on the extension:"It is a natural extension in terms of brick work and roof line to the canopy that is already on the property."The UK’s biggest country music export The Shires will be performing a one night concert at Llandrindod Wells' The Albert Hall.
