Plans have been approved that would see a new Ladbrokes operating from the former Aulds store
Ladbrokes are set to move into the Burns Mall in Kilmarnock after a planning application was approved by East Ayrshire Council .
One objection was received to the plans on the basis that "more people lose more to gambling than they do to drugs". "The proposed change of use would have no unacceptable impact upon the established uses within this area of the town centre or upon the environmental quality of the area. "In conclusion, the proposed change of use of a Class 1A unit to a betting shop will not undermine the character and amenity or the health or wellbeing of communities, particularly in disadvantaged areas, as there is no overall increase in betting shops resulting from this application.
