PlayStation confirmed it was closing down Concord just a few weeks after its release, which makes Prime Video's upcoming video game adaptation a lot weirder. Secret Level was announced by Amazon following Fallout's success, with the streaming service seemingly looking to capitalize on the popularity of video game adaptations by introducing a fresh concept.
Secret Level’s Concord Episode Is Far Less Interesting After The Game Was Shut Down It's Difficult To Get Invested In Concord Given It Has No Real Future Close Although Secret Level's Concord episode seemed like a great chance to help audiences learn more about the franchise, it's far less interesting now that the game has been axed.
Why Concord Was Taken Offline By Firewalk Studios Concord Had A Disappointingly Low Player Base Close The decision to take Concord offline wouldn't have been an easy one for Firewalk Studios and PlayStation, but it seemed inevitable after the game's poor launch. With Overwatch being one of the biggest games around when Concord was first announced, the concept seemed promising, but by the time it actually released, hero shooters dwindled in popularity.
1 Bad timing and a hefty entry fee were definitely pivotal factors behind Concord's failure, but it also offered very little to make players want to prioritize it over any other hero shooters. As a result, the game had a very small player base at launch with barely anyone on the game two weeks later, resulting in PlayStation shutting down Concord and issuing refunds.
