West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust delivers services on behalf of the local authority and is responsible for three main indoor leisure centres
A plea to use £50,000 of West Dunbartonshire Council’s reserves to fund the Leisure Trust for another year will be made at a council meeting tomorrow evening.
They are also in charge of managing sports development, the Active Schools project, community facilities, outdoor recreation and a range of events throughout the year.A motion from SNP councillor Gordon Scanlan will be brought before full council tomorrow evening to ask the council to provide £50,000 from free reserve to run the programme for a further year while giving the trust time to find further funding so that services can continue.
“The leisure trust’s early years physical activity programme has been operating for the last 2 years from covid recovery funding which has come to an end and this will stop the programme from running at the end of this school term.
