Bursey Armstrong faces two second degree murder charges, one for Jacksonville DJ Tasheka Young, and the other for her unborn child.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The trial of a man accused of killing a Jacksonville radio personality started Monday.
This all started just under two years ago, when Young, who was four months pregnant at the time, was found unresponsive at Mission Pointe Apartments on the Northside."Please, please, please don't do this," said Assistant State Attorney Sheila Loizos."Those are the last words a neighbor ever heard from Tasheka Young."
Police found a gun and bloody clothes underneath the stairs at Armstrong’s parent’s home, where he told police he was staying. "He takes one of the chairs at the table, puts it on the table, climbs up on the table, and he's trying to get through the tiles in the roof," said Loizos. His defense attorney had a much shorter address for the jury in his opening remarks.
