‘Pleased’ Ten Hag responds to rumours that Shaw has signed a new long-term deal at Man UtdEngland left-back Luke Shaw is close to signing a new long-term deal with Manchester United, the PA news agency understands.
Shaw’s current deal had been due to expire in the summer, only for United to trigger a one-year extension clause to keep him until the end of the 2023-24 season. Shaw, who has made 248 appearances for United, is reportedly set to sign a four-year deal at Old Trafford.if Shaw had signed a new deal, Erik ten Hag replied: “If he signed, I don’t know, I haven’t heard, John didn’t inform me until now. I have to wait for that. If true, I am pleased. We definitely want to keep him because he’s a really important player for our team.”
“It’s about us, like we did in the two previous games, it’s about us, as every game, we want to dictate, to control the game but we play against a good opponent, we’re aware of that.
