Plymouth Argyle have signed former Coventry and Shrewsbury goalkeeper Marko Marosi on a free transfer to bolster their goalkeeping options after Conor Hazard's recent ankle surgery.
Plymouth Argyle have agreed a deal to sign former Coventry and Shrewsbury goalkeeper Marko Marosi on a free transfer,The 30-year-old is a free agent and will sign a short-term deal at Home Park.Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth side have started the 2024-25 campaign with Conor Hazard in goal but the shot-stopper has recently undergone ankle surgery.
Daniel Grimshaw is currently the only fit goalkeeper on the books at Argyle after Hazard’s injury and is set to play against Championship leaders Sunderland on Saturday .MORE INSIDER STORIES Marosi is set to come in and bolster the Pilgrims’ goalkeeping options after his time with Shrewsbury, Coventry and Doncaster Rovers in England.The former Slovakia Under-21 international has made 303 club appearances, keeping 80 clean sheets and conceding 382 goals.
His only previous experience in the Championship came with Coventry in the 2020-21 campaign, when he made 20 appearances in the second tier – keeping four clean sheets.He will join Rooney’s side, who have started the new season with just two points from a possible 12.
