Tomorrow our warm streak begins as our windy streak ends—at least for a few days.
Temperatures ended just a hair below average today, more noticeable from windiness, which gusted around 40 mph. This left some without power . We’ll calm a great deal tonight before breeziness returns during an 80-degree day tomorrow for many.
Clear skies and thankfully calming winds. Early gusts from the west and northwest near 30 mph should have a hard time gusting to 10 mph before dawn. Temperatures bottom out in the 40s throughout the region. Afternoon breezes from the southwest could gust around 30 mph a few times. Otherwise, a solid spring day with bright skies — other than a few possible clouds that may start bubbling up by midday. A stray shower is unlikely but can’t be ruled out by the time a midafternoon pulse of clouds tries to move though. Our warming trend officially begins with late afternoon high temperatures in the mid-70s to around 80 degrees.
Today’s wind gusts did leave power outages in their wake. Early this afternoon may have been the peak outage level with about 1,900 outages for BGE and Pepco combined. Here’s what current outage numbers look like in our region:
