Four of the foreigners who were rescued by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the raids on a suspected Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Las Piñas City turned out to be fugitives from China. ManilaBulletin

Police Capt. Michelle Sabino, spokesperson of the PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group, said this was found out during the processing of the rescued foreign workers in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration.Sabino said representatives of various embassies in the Philippines have already coordinated with the PNP to assist those rescued.

More than 2,700 Filipino and foreign workers were rescued when policemen raided seven establishments in Las Piñas City on June 27. All the rescued Filipinos, numbering to around 1,500, were already released while the rescued foreigners remain in the area for processing. The raids were in connection with the implementation of search warrants for possible violations of anti-human trafficking and anti-cybercrime laws.
