A gospel choir performed as part of the moving service to remember those who gave their lives for their country
A poignant Remembrance Service was held at the plateau at St George's Hall this morning. This year's Remembrance Day marks 80 years since the D-Day Landings in Normandy and the Battle of Arnhem , with events taking place around the country with two minutes of silence at 11am to commemorate those who died in war.
I thought I’d come here, put my medals on and take part in the service for remembrance. It’s special - being a military person, we all think back to the military connection we have and the fallen. “It’s the community coming together for a common reason. It’s about remembering not just the fallen but the injured. I work closely with veterans and know the trauma they go through. Liverpool’s service is fantastic. I think it’s one of the biggest ones you’ll see anywhere outside of London.
