CPK Airport, designed to be Europe's most modern airport, will be built between Warsaw and Łódź, creating 150,000 jobs and accommodating 34 million passengers annually.

A brand-new European airport is set to open in 2032, giving aviation enthusiasts something new to anticipate: the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) Airport in Poland . This major infrastructure project, projected to create around 150,000 jobs, will be constructed between Warsaw , Poland 's capital, and the city of Łódź. The CPK Airport aims to elevate Poland 's status as a European travel hub . Currently, Warsaw Chopin Airport, the busiest in Poland , served 18.5 million passengers in 2023.

However, the CPK project is poised to usher in a new era for both domestic and international travel, with an anticipated annual passenger capacity of 34 million. This number could even reach 44 million with potential expansions, depending on future demand.'We now have the location decision for building the most modern airport in Europe. This is a critical step in the CPK project, and we are ready to move forward with construction,' stated Poland's minister of infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak. The airport's construction extends beyond improving aviation links. The project incorporates an expanded railway and road network, including high-speed railway connections across the country, served by six underground platforms. The new airport will feature two parallel runways, each measuring 3,800 meters in length, with the possibility of adding a third runway in the future, contingent upon passenger demand. The terminal and railway station will be situated on a 2,500-meter-long midfield. A significant portion of passengers, estimated at 40%, are expected to use the train to reach the airport. Organizers anticipate a 20-minute journey from Warsaw Central to CPK and a 40-minute trip from Warsaw Central to Łódź. Construction is slated to commence in 2026, and 2,585 hectares of land have already been approved for the project. Upon its opening in seven years, the CPK Airport will be a major addition to Poland's transportation infrastructure, connecting the country to Europe and beyond.
