Police are appealing for witnesses after a huge fire ripped through a Scots high street and devastated businesses.
High Street shut down as well as part of the Esplanade for a number of hours during the day while the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire. Non one was injured in the fire.Detective Inspector Karen Muirhead said: “Poundstetchers and other local businesses have been significantly affected by this fire and our enquiries are ongoing to establish how the fire started.
"We would be keen to speak with anyone who was in the area between 11pm and 2am as they may have witnessed something which may assist the enquiry. Harrowing images shared on social media, show the aftermath of the fire on Poundstrecther as well businesses roundabout, including Jackson & Company solicitors and Stuart's Butchers.
