Eight people have been arrested in a major police operation targeting organized crime in Glasgow and surrounding areas. The arrests were made as part of Operation Silhouette, which has recovered substantial amounts of drugs and cash over the past 18 months.
Eight people have been arrested in a major police swoop on alleged organised crime in and near Glasgow.
Six men, aged 37, 32, 30, 28, 29 and 28, have been charged in connection with alleged involvement in serious and organised crime and are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, December 2.This activity is part of an ongoing investigation, Operation Silhouette, which began 18 months ago and is led by the Serious and Organised Crime Unit aiming to target serious organised crime mobs.
Detective Chief Inspector Laura Sands said: "This enforcement action underlines Police Scotland's commitment to tackling serious organised crime and the misery that this type of criminality inflicts on communities across Scotland.
