Police have arrested two people after the explosion
Two people were arrested after an explosion ripped through a home in South Yorkshire over the weekend.
The explosion, sometime before 9.20pm, happened on Cromwell Street, in Thurnscoe. Emergency services responded and found one person who had been injured. South Yorkshire Police arrested tow people for drug offences related to the explosion. One of those arrested, a woman in her 20s, has been bailed, while the other, a man in his 30s has been released under investigation.A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at about 9.20pm on Saturday, December 17 following reports from the fire service of a possible gas explosion at a house on Cromwell Street in Thurnscoe, Barnsley.
"The man and a woman in her 20s have been arrested for drugs offences in connection with the incident. Emergency services currently remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances of the incident.
