The order originally came into effect at 5pm on Friday
Increased stop and search powers are being kept in place in a part of Leeds for a further 24 hours after a man was seriously injured after being stabbed outside The Springs shopping centre. The man is in hospital and continuing to receive treatment for his injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The temporary order covers an area of east Leeds including Harehills, East End Park, Whinmoor, Gipton, Temple Newsam Park and Colton. for an initial 24 hours and has now been extended for a further 24 hours until 5pm tomorrow.Detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing to carry out enquiries into the incident.
Yesterday, Superintendent Russ Hughes of Leeds District Police, said: “This order has been put in place following a violent assault in Leeds today which is being investigated by Leeds District CID.
