Jamaica police are urging the public to come forward as they believe Patterson may be involved in other incidents
UPDATE: Police announce they have charged Rushawn Patterson with the murder of Aneka ‘Slickianna’ Townsend
A post-mortem examination conducted on 5 November, revealed that Ms Townsend’s cause of death was strangulation. “During the course of this investigation, an abundance of forensic, cyber-forensic and other technological evidence has been collected. Following consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the JCF Legal Services Division, Patterson was formally charged with murder this afternoon ,” the police said.
Officers believe at some point during in the night, an argument developed between Ms Townsend and Patterson. Her mother, Joy Smith, positively identified 35-year-old’s body, according to police. Ms Smith said “all I can say is that she was a good person, but I don’t have any more comments at this time.”
In a post on Instagram, entitled Stop Violence Against Women, dancehall icon Bounty Killer described Ms Townsend as a “good likkle friend”.
