Friends and families were out enjoying meals and going to the cinema when they came across the police scene
Police taped off a seating area outside Nando's just a short distance away from the scene of a slashing. Police were seen on New Mersey Retail Park in Speke on Thursday evening, just minutes away from David Lloyd leisure centre where a man in his 20s had been slashed across the face with a bladed weapon. Police and paramedics were called to t he scene at 6.05pm on Thursday and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of a facial injury.
A worker at the retail park claimed they saw a man being arrested outside Nando's on Thursday evening. A police cordon was in place across the outdoor seating area but the restaurant remained open as usual. One witness told the ECHO: 'We came out for a Zizzi's and then we were like 'oh we'll go for a game of bowling'.
