A cordon was in place near Lime Street Station and the Adelphi Hotel
A man was taken to hospital after being assaulted in the city centre. Police were called to Bolton Street, near Lime Street Station , at 5.38am on Saturday, August 21. One man was assaulted and taken to hospital for treatment, a force incident manager at Merseyside Police told the ECHO . The extent of his injuries is currently unknown and police are awaiting an update. When the ECHO arrived at the scene this morning at around 10.
A police officer could also be seen standing outside Rileys Sports Bar. Cars travelling down Bolton Street, which is a one-way road, had to turn around back onto Skelhorne Street due to it being cordoned off.
