Dogs form a vital part of the policing team in Lancashire and the force has a formidable group of canines who work hard to crackSince 1908, police dogs have been on the frontline across the United Kingdom, protecting communities by catching criminals, locating missing people and detecting cash, drugs and firearms.
Police dogs are used in a number of ways; from uncovering contraband and digital equipment to searching for missing persons and those on the run from officers. The force said at the time: "Hulk joined us earlier in the year. Now at seven months old, he is in the full swing of training. We will be looking to licence him in around five months’ time as a fully trained General Purpose Police Dog.
"He will already complete most tasks that are asked of him and is now biting training sleeves, chasing down decoys and finding. Hulk’s obedience work is fantastic, and he is showing all the signs that he will be a super police dog for the Force.
"Constabulary welcomed two other new recruits earlier this month. Cas and her brother Coco are already making an impression. The dog unit said: "Coco is very bright and very fast and will certainly give her brother a run for his money.

In October last year PD Oakley proved his crime-cracking skills. After his human colleagues pulled over a driver and arrested them for possession with intent to supply Oakley found more substances and cash inside the vehicle.
"A further search of the drivers home address saw the snout indicate on a cupboard and when opened Oakley began jumping up," police said at the time. It's not all about hard work as the dogs are entitled to rest days too as Trainee Police Dog Harry proved last year. Sharing a picture of Harry on a kayak police said: "Harry has completely shown us up on our previous post by flaunting how he’s keeping cool on his holibobs.
