Police are treating this as a suspicious death but could not say how the boy died.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police say that they found a body in a home that is believed to be an 8-year-old boy who was declared missing on Friday.
Chief Elaine Bryant said that 32-year-old LaShanda Wilder called police to her home Friday afternoon to report that her son, Martonio Wilder, had been missing since Thursday night.Around 9 p.m. Friday evening, an AMBER Alert was issued for Martonio's two young siblings and LaShanda. The two siblings were safely located a short time later at a home with a family member of a friend of LaShanda's.
Bryant said that at an unspecified time, a body believed to be Martonio was recovered at the home LaShanda called police to on Friday afternoon.LaShanda's whereabouts are currently unknown but police said they are not naming her as a suspect at this time. She was last seen wearing a red head covering, black T-shirt, black pants and red slippers.A Pearland couple was on their annual trip to Utah when they went missing.
