Salt Lake City Police officers said this investigation began around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, when dispatch received reports of a crash near 1040 South Redwood Road. Investigators said they believe a car heading north on Redwood Road struck the man as he was crossing in what they said did not appear to be a marked crosswalk.The man hit was transported in critical condition via ambulance.
