Columbus Police still need your help in figuring out who shot a 15 year-old on Monday night.
. Investigators said no one has come forward to offer any info about what they saw at 20th and Hamilton, where the teen was shot.
“So far we have had zero people come forward to say that they had witnessed this incident,” Sgt. Joe Albert with the Columbus Division of Police said. “That's a little concerning.” Police found the teen in the street, shot multiple times, with at least one bullet reportedly hitting the boy in the head. He was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition. A condition wasn’t available late Tuesday afternoon.
Neighbors didn’t want to go on camera, but did tell us they are concerned. One woman who lives a few doors down from the shooting told me her home got shot up last summer and still bears the bullet holes.Police said they know there’s a street code of withholding information from police, so as not to appear to be “snitching.” But Albert said that should go out the window when kids are involved.
“That doesn't apply,” Albert said. “You got a 15 year-old that's fighting for his life right now at the hospital. Do the right thing, come forward, reach out to us."
