The injured Chihuahua has not been seen again and is believed to be dead.
Police have launched an appeal after a Chihuahua was 'carried away' in a dog's jaws and believed to have been killed after an attack. The eight-year-old family pet was walking with its owner in Nobel Road, Clifton, at around 10.45pm on October 8, when it was attacked by a bull-breed type dog.
The Chihuahua was carried away in the dog’s jaws. Police say the injured Chihuahua has not been seen again and is believed to be dead. Officers are now carrying out an appeal for additional footage from doorbell, CCTV, and dashboard cameras. PC Kane Dunker, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a shocking incident that has understandably caused a huge amount of distress to this animal’s owners. We understand that dogs can be an integral part of a family home and are determined to track down the animal responsible and its owner.
“We particularly want to identify a large bull terrier type dog and a small number of men in tracksuits seen in the area at the time.” Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 807 of October 8, 2023.
