Merseyside Police is hunting a group of vandals who 'recklessly' destroyed a Ukrainian peace garden in Liverpool with fireworks and bonfires.
Liverpool Council has confirmed lots of damage has been done to the garden. The garden's sign, benches and peace poles created by pupils at St Vincent's specialist school have all been burnt - while a wishing well in the garden has also been damaged. “To commit these offences in the Ukrainian Peace Garden, which caused damage to the site, is appalling and we are taking this matter extremely seriously.
The police's condemnation comes after several Liverpool Councillors shared their dismay at the actions of those who damaged the peace garden.
