In a new push to solve the unsolved murder case of Alistair Wilson, detectives will review over 10,000 documents as part of Operation Sabine, marking a significant reinvestigation effort 20 years after the crime.
Detectives are set to re-examine over 10,000 documents in a fresh investigation into the unsolved murder of Alistair Wilson , a banker from Nairn who was shot on November 28, 2004. A dedicated team of 14 officers has been established to work on Operation Sabine , with plans to expand the team further. The team will review 6,000 statements and 14,000 actions taken by police since the murder.
On the 20th anniversary of the case, a new public portal has been launched to allow members of the public to send information directly and anonymously to the police. This move follows criticism from Alistair's family who expressed their loss of confidence in the police's handling of the case
