A former police officer, a disgraced doctor and an EncroChat drug trafficker known as 'Top Golfer' were among the Merseyside criminals who were jailed over the past week. Also locked up was a woman who sexually abused a girl after grooming her on Snapchat. Meanwhile, Liverpool Crown Court heard that a man killed his girlfriend by 'yanking' on the handbrake of her Audi as she drove on the M62.
Former GP Stephen Crosby has been imprisoned twice previously for sexually assaulting scores of his own patients. And the 71-year-old is now back behind bars after sitting beside a teenager on public transport and brazenly masturbating. Despite being left feeling 'appalled' and 'trapped', it was her quick-thinking that ultimately saw the serial sex offender brought to justice once more. Crosby was found guilty of outraging public decency by a jury following a trial.
