David Eubank was a back seat passenger in one of the cars involved in the collision
Police are continuing to investigate a horror crash on the M61 in which a 20-year-old man died and three others were seriously injured.
David Eubank, from Bolton, died after the smash on the southbound carriageway of the motorway close to Rivington Services at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, October 15. A Citroen C1 collided with the safety barrier before hitting a Mercedes. David was a backseat passenger in the Citroen. He died from his injuries while three other people - the drivers of both cars and a second passenger in the Citroen - were seriously injured and taken to hospital.The inquest into David's death opened yesterday at Preston Coroner's Court. The brief hearing was told that a police investigation into the collision is ongoing and a date for the final inquest will be scheduled once it has been completed, Lancs Live reports.
In a tribute issued after his death,, his family said: "David was beautiful inside and out – we are so proud of the fine young man he had become. He was funny, kind, caring and considerate at home, work and with his friends. David was so much loved by all who knew him. He has left a massive hole in our hearts – we are devastated by his loss."
