The suspect was detained outside Victoria Centre, on Milton Street
A man has been arrested following reports of a 'disturbance' on a road just outside Nottingham city centre. The incident took place at around 1.20pm on Friday, March 15, on St Ann's Well Road, St Ann's.
A plastic axe was later discovered nearby by officers. A suspect was then detained in Milton Street, outside the Victoria Centre. A 38-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in public. Nobody was injured during the incident and investigations are being carried out by the police.A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to St Ann’s Well Road, St Ann’s, around 1.20pm today following reports of a disturbance. Following a search of the area, police discovered a plastic axe nearby, and detained a suspect in Milton Street, Nottingham city centre.
“A 38-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in public. Nobody sustained any injuries during the incident, which is currently being investigated further by police.”
