Update after residents were told to stay inside by armed police
Police remain on the scene of a Lincoln street where armed officers were called to yesterday.
Residents on Browning Drive were told to stay in their homes as police arrived in the early hours on Tuesday morning.Lincolnshire Police have been unable to provide more information due to difficulties locating the incident in their database. This could be due to it starting elsewhere. The incident was initially linked with a theft from the Lincolnshire Co-op on nearby Woodhall Drive, however it is unclear whether this is still the case.
One resident said: “At 2.30am on Tuesday, armed police were on the street and we were told to stay indoors.“It seems unusual for a police presence to still be at the house for a shop theft and for armed police to have locked down the street previously.”
