Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following the incident on Cheapside in the early hours of Sunday morning

A police cordon was put in place in Preston city centre this morning after a man was hospitalised following a 'public disorder' incident.

Emergency services were called to Cheapside, close to Turtle Bay, at 5.13am today . Pictures sent to LancsLive show the area was sealed off as an investigation was launched with police tape stretching across the bollards leading to the outdoor seating area at Turtle Bay. Lancashire Constabulary said several people were in the area at the time of the incident and a man was found with an arm injury. He was later taken to hospital for treatment.Officers have now appealed for people to come forward if they witnessed the incident. Nobody has been arrested at this time and the cordon remained in place this morning as shoppers visited the city centre

A force spokesman told LancsLive: "We were called to Cheapside in Preston city centre at approximately 5.13am today to a report of public disorder. A man suffered an injury to his arm and was treated in hospital. "No one has been arrested. There were a number of people in the area at the time and any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact 101 – quoting log 0240 of March 26, 2023."
