A vehicle resembling a child's toy on a massive scale was discovered on the roads of Greater Manchester, drawing the attention of local police. The Tesla Cybertruck , with its bold, boxy, and imposing design, stands out from the norm in the automotive world. However, it has sparked significant safety concerns regarding pedestrians, cyclists, and occupants of smaller vehicles in the event of a collision.
\On Wednesday evening (January 17), officers from Greater Manchester Police encountered this peculiar Tesla in Whitefield, near Bury. Faced with the unusual sight, officers were compelled to seize the vehicle and report the driver. Tesla claims the Cybertruck boasts an 'ultra-hard stainless-steel exoskeleton,' designed to withstand dents and scratches. Unlike conventional cars, which are engineered to crumple upon impact, absorbing the force of a collision, the Cybertruck's body is built for resilience. \The Cybertruck is an imposing presence, exceeding 18 feet in length, nearly 5 feet 10 inches in height, and weighing up to 489 stone. According to the manufacturer, it can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in a mere 2.6 seconds. This colossal vehicle, however, falls short of meeting the UK's stringent road safety regulations. The Tesla seized in Whitefield was registered and insured abroad by a person residing permanently in the UK, which is illegal. A spokesperson for GMP Bury took to Facebook to inform the public: 'Officers from GMP Transport Unit stopped this Tesla Cybertruck in Whitefield last night (Wednesday). The driver was a permanent UK resident but the vehicle was registered and insured abroad which is prohibited in the UK. 'The Tesla Cybertruck is not road legal in the UK and does not hold a certificate of conformity. Whilst this may seem trivial to some, legitimate concerns exist around the safety of other road users or pedestrians if they were involved in a collision with a Cybertruck. The vehicle was subsequently seized under S165 of the Road Traffic Act and the driver reported.
