Two bodies found with gunshot wounds on Thursday afternoon have been identified as a father and son following an incident police suspect to be a murder-suicide.

Wayne Smith, 58, and his son Noah, 15, were found dead inside a home on Kookaburra Circuit in Yamba at about 1.10pm on Thursday.
