Staff were reportedly threatened by knife-wielding thugs
Two man armed with a knife held up Blackpool Cash Convertor's store earlier today before fleeing the scene
The men walked into the Church Street store on Wednesday morning before threatening staff while brandishing the knife. They then stole items from the store before making their exit and the pair remain unidentified. A large police presence was seen rushing through the town centre shortly after the incident at 9.45am. Later on, forensic specialists attended the store as part of the investigation.A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: "We were called to Cash Convertors on Church Street at around 9.45. It was reported that two man have come into the store, they both threatened staff, took items and then made off from the scene.
"There's no arrests at this stage and enquiries are ongoing." The spokesperson confirmed that it was reported a knife had been seen during this incident. Anyone with information or who witnessed men leaving the scene is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0331 of October 19. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
